ATOMIC OXYGEN HOCKEY TRAINING PROGRAMS

Our programs and coaches provide the highest level of individualized athletic training and development available by perfecting and strengthening skills on and off the ice through strategic and evolving repetition.

Atomic Oxygen is split into two programs, one for youth and another for high school. Each program has two levels, ice-only training or ice and dry land training.

We invite you (or your hockey player) to shadow an athlete for a day, please contact us to schedule a day that works.

Weekly Breakdown

Our core training program consists of four sessions per week, currently being held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Please toggle any given day (adjacent) for workout summaries, videos from actual training sessions and key objectives.

DAY ONE – SKATING
On day one, we focus heavily on skating, which includes a heavy emphasis on edge work and high intensity skating drills. Proper skating technique with shooting, passing and flow drills are integrated.

DAY TWO – INDIVIDUAL SKILLS
Coach Willy Volk comes to AO where we focus on individual skills, this includes, quick starts, puck handling, tight turns, tight spaces, and shooting from many different areas of the ice.

DAY THREE – GOALIE IN NET
Goalie Coach David Cole helps run goalie-centric drills, focusing on the development of the goalies though repetition. These drills are designed to help the goalies, however, they are highly beneficial to the player, as we implement much of what we worked on earlier in the week (skating, flow, shots from different areas, puck handling, etc.).

DAY FOUR – GAME CONCEPTS
On day four, we dive into game concepts by again implementing what we worked on previously in the week and instructing the players through game concept type drills for contextual reference. These types of practices can include 2 on 0’s, 2 on 1’s, zone entry and small games.
